No need to wait until 2025 – start submitting fiscal data to i.EKA today

As Lithuania digitises cash income accounting, all merchants will start submitting cash receipt data to the Lithuanian State Tax Inspectorate's (VMI) i.EKA subsystem, and paper-based cash transaction records will be eliminated.

This transition is happening gradually. The first to switch to smart POS were the companies with the highest turnover. All merchants will be required to submit fiscalised receipts to i.EKA starting 1 May 2025.

The virtual cash register offered by Paysera transmits data to i.EKA instantly.

FAQ

If the customer wishes to pay in cash, you will select the cash option in the cash register section, which you will see in your computer or tablet browser. The card terminal will print a receipt confirming the fiscal operation. Printing the receipt means that the data about the fiscal operation instantly reaches the Lithuanian State Tax Inspectorate i.EKA subsystem. If the receipt is not printed due to running out of paper, you can be sure that the data still reaches i.EKA.

Yes, it's all you need. Our solution allows you to manage sales using only a payment card terminal and a computer or tablet.

Here's how it works:

  • Creating a product assortment: Log in to your pos.paysera.com account on your computer or tablet to effortlessly manage your inventory. Create your product and service catalogue, and track stock levels with ease.

  • Sales: Initiate customer transactions directly from your computer or tablet screen.

  • Payments and receipts: When a customer completes a purchase, the payment card terminal linked to your pos.paysera.com account automatically transmits receipt data to the Lithuanian State Tax Inspectorate i.EKA subsystem and generates a printed receipt confirming the fiscal transaction.

  • Stock monitoring: Your pos.paysera.com account automatically updates product stock levels after each sale, ensuring real-time stock monitoring.

Our virtual cash register solution is convenient and easy to use. You won't need to invest in expensive cash register equipment – your existing devices will suffice.

No, you don't have to. You can process payments for purchases into any account at another financial institution.
We don't have integration with a cash drawer, so our clients usually keep cash received from customers in cash drawers (without integration), safes, or other designated secure locations.

The cash register is virtual, you'll access it through a browser. It's a solution without many wires and seals, so no special installation is needed for the virtual cash register. We'll send you login details for the pos.paysera.com self-service portal via email, and the payment card terminal (which also has a browser) along with a special recognition sticker will be delivered by couriers directly to your preferred point of sale.

We'll also soon launch the app, which you can access on the payment card terminal.

To start using the virtual cash register, you just need to follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the Lithuanian State Tax Inspectorate system (https://ieka.vmi.lt/). Here you'll find a section where you can manage your payment methods.
  2. Assign Paysera LT as the administrator of payment methods (cash registers). This process is quick and easy, taking just a few minutes.

As soon as you complete these actions, we'll create and link your cash register to the Paysera POS account and inform you when you can start using the cash register.

Yes, you can show prices to customers on any device of your choice and use this device as a price tag and a place for advertising.

Currently, to send a receipt to the customer by email, you first need to print it on the payment card terminal. This step is currently mandatory according to cash register regulations.

Soon, the customer will be able to choose not to print the receipt but receive it by email, or scan the receipt's QR code on the price tag and download the receipt to their smart device.

You can purchase a payment card terminal without the Paysera POS system directly from terminal suppliers. However, a terminal alone will not substitute a cash register system, which is mandatory for almost every business accepting card payments.

To fully leverage the Paysera POS system's integrated functionalities, a versatile payment card terminal is essential. This device enables merchants to accept both card and cash transactions, while also providing printed receipts to verify fiscal operations. In the future, we plan to offer more alternatives – our own payment devices or technological payment solutions.

Digitalisation is affecting more and more areas, including cash income declaration. By digitising cash income accounting, all Lithuanian companies will automatically submit cash receipt data to the Lithuanian State Tax Inspectorate subsystem – i.EKA from 1 May, 2025.

This change provides many benefits:

  1. Easier accounting: Paper cash journals become eliminated as all processes shift to electronic management. This simplifies daily cashing up and enhances overall sales management and accounting efficiency.
  2. Fairer competition: Digitalisation helps ensure that all businesses operate honestly and pay taxes transparently.
  3. Convenience for customers: STI's innovative platform at https://kvitas.vmi.lt/ empowers customers to verify the accurate recording of their payments and subsequent tax allocation in real-time. This self-service feature bolsters transparency and instils greater confidence in financial transactions.

Previous cash register solutions don't have the ability to ensure these benefits, so a transition to innovative solutions is necessary.

You can choose a payment card terminal that will print a receipt confirming the fiscal operation. The data will reach the Lithuanian State Tax Inspectorate i.EKA subsystem, so you'll perform the operation according to all tax declaration requirements.

Additionally, you'll be able to initiate payments and view and manage all your orders in the self-service portal pos.paysera.com.

Currently, we have integrations with B1, Optimum. In the future, we'll offer more integrations with third parties and an open API.

You won't need to register the devices themselves. Paysera POS has many declared mobile devices and computers with which our solution can work. You'll just need to assign Paysera LT as the administrator of payment methods (cash registers) on the website https://ieka.vmi.lt/. This will take just a few minutes.

You can access the cash register system from any device with a browser. So, yes, through a smartphone as well. However, the user experience is better when using the virtual cash register on a payment card terminal, tablet, or computer. In the future, we plan to offer the option to use the system on smartphones as well.
We don't sell barcode scanners, but our solution can be used to collect the product basket using a barcode scanner of your choice. We don't want to obligate our clients to use one type of specialised equipment, so we leave the option for you to choose according to your needs, thus saving money for your business development.
Yes, our POS system is approved by the State Tax Inspectorate, certified by the Lithuanian Metrology Inspectorate. It already sends fiscal receipts to the i.EKA subsystem.
No, you just need a device with a web browser (Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Safari, Mozilla Firefox, etc.).
We always provide the most comprehensive All-Inclusive plan for the first month to better understand your needs and ensure our system meets all your expectations.
Yes, you will. Our virtual cash register works with the Verifone card terminal, which acts as a receipt printer. When a customer pays in cash, you can select the cash payment option on the card reader screen, and the card terminal will print a receipt for the customer.
Verifone collects customer payments into its accounts and transfers them the same day or the next day. However, you can view each transaction by logging into their portal. Once the funds reach your account, all transactions will be consolidated in one place.
